Access to a pool of job applicants who have obtained Occupational Skills that match the employer’s workforce needs
  IMC staff consult with individual employers about their projected labor goals and needs and their expected job openings, then select appropriate courses of study for prospective job applicants at local community colleges and vocational schools. Pre-screening, assessment, employability and career counseling of prospective job-ready applicants who meet the employer’s job specifications
Assistance with the interviewing process for referred job applicants when requested by the employer
Support for attaining a diversified, qualified workforce and fulfilling the company’s equal employment opportunity goals
Value of a bilingual workforce (English and Spanish)
Reliable retention services to facilitate the employer-employee match after the placement
Placement support for a client hired by the employer, e.g., help with paying for work clothes and tools, mandatory tests, eye exams
On-the-Job Training (OJT) contracts that provide up to 50% reimbursement of the training costs for hiring new employees who need additional skills or experience to perform a specific job
  During OJT, employees (program participants) may receive:
 
  • Employability counseling
  • Supportive services (e.g., transportation assistance)
  • Required work clothes and tools
  Employers and employees may receive:
 
  • Liaison services during the OJT (e.g., answer questions, resolve issues)
  • Follow-up services after successful completion of the OJT
