QUALIFYING  FARMWORK SIC CODES

Qualifying farmwork for eligibility under the Workforce Investment Act Title ID167 is agricultural work performed for wages in agricultural production or agricultural services as defined in the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) or North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Codes. The SIC Codes and NAICS Codes include more specific definitions for each of these categories. 

Qualifying SIC farmwork codes are: 01, 02 (minus 027), 07 (minus 074, 0752, 078). Excluded are landscaping, lawn and garden services, animal specialty and veterinary services.

How Qualifying Farmwork Codes are used in the Eligibility
The individual may be farmworker eligible for WIA Title I D 167 if he/she is a seasonal farmworker or the dependent of a seasonal farmworker, i.e. ) was employed at least 25 days in qualifying farmwork or earned at least $800 in qualifying farmwork during the eligibility determination period (12 consecutive months in the pevious 24 months), and has been primarily employed in farmwork on a seasonal basis; and has over 50% of total income or total time earned in qualifying farmwork during the eligibility determination period (12 consecutive months in the previous 24 months).
